Active Participation of Higher Education, Reducing The Rate of Stunting Up to 14% Optimistic to reach

The head of the BKKBN representative for South Sumatra, Mediheryanto, S.H, MH evaluates the role of universities could contribute to reducing the rate of stunting in several districts and cities in South Sumatra.
He explained by 2024 all districts and cities must have received assistance from universities to accelerate this stunting reduction.
"The assistance is implemented through the three pillars of higher education, starting from teaching and learning, community service, until conducting research," he said.

Currently in South Sumatra 10 districts/cities have received priority support from these universities from the Indonesian Rector's Forum. However, it is possible in the future 7 other districts/cities will get the same thing. "17 districts/cities total in South Sumatra are fulfilled," he said.
He explained, in the three pillars of higher education, community service will be carried out with thematic KKN and preventing stunting. As for the research, it is hoped that the results will bring up a concept that can be offered to local regional heads.
According to him, if the university already has villages assisted, the BKKBN will allow the university to focus and keep on that village, even if the program running successfully it will be added to other villages/Urban village
With support from universities, the target for reducing the rate of stunting from 24.8% to 14.33 percent is certainly will be reached.(andhiko tungga alam/iis devi rahayu/dzulfiqor ammar)
