Indonesian Engineers Must Be Equal and Compatible with the Global System

Selasa, 19 April 2022

The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII) believes that engineering graduates from Study Programs (Prodi) who have been accredited by PII can now be equal to graduates from the advanced states.
Vice Rector III of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) Prof. Erry Yulian T Adesta, said that Indonesia has thousands of the best engineers who are ready to build the nation.

To him as the oldest profession in the world, engineers need to keep growing. Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) is also determined to keep producing a qualified young generation before jumping into the professional world later.
Indonesia must max out its engineering infrastructure through the addition of engineering graduates, engineers, and professional engineers to be globally competitive. "After the engineering infrastructure is built, now is the time to add as many engineering graduates, engineers, and professional engineers as possible," he said.
He said the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between PII and universities including the Universitas Indo Global Mandiri was the first step to make each university carry out their engineering education optimally by providing competent human capital.

"We hope engineers in Indonesia will not have a downgrade from other countries. This profession is not only limited to our own country but also recognized in other countries, where we practice. For that, we negotiate not letting that happen. We have to improve starting from the curriculum formation, whether the relevance of education is up-to-date with the needs," he concluded.
